The VFC USSOCOM M3 MAAWS rocket launcher is a faithful replica of the Swedish Carl Gustaf weapon, also used by U.S. special forces. This portable and reusable multi-purpose 84mm recoilless rocket launcher is produced by Saab Bofors Dynamics.

The VFC USSOCOM M3 MAAWS uses a main frame made of nylon fiber-reinforced polymer, reducing the weight from 10 kg (using the original material) to just 3,400 grams with the VFC design. Inside, the main components are made of metal, ensuring durability and strength.

This design not only reduces the weight but also maintains the structural strength of the USSOCOM M3 MAAWS platform. The USSOCOM M3 MAAWS gas launcher contains a simulated 84mm rocket with many additional features. A 40mm Airsoft Greengas grenade, filled with 6mm BBs, can be installed inside the rocket.

The Modern "Bazooka" of U.S. Special Forces

Manufactured by Vegaforce©Company - 100% Made in Taiwan

The Carl Gustaf recoilless rifle had its earliest prototype in 1946 and has been used in many countries for over 70 years through a series of derivative models. This is due to its lightweight and cost-effective body and ammunition. It can be paired with various types of shells, providing the Carl Gustaf with the versatility to be used in modern, ever-evolving battlefields.

The U.S. military named the Gustav recoilless rifle as the "Ranger Anti-tank Weapons System" (RAWS), and the M3 Gustav recoilless rifle prototype was first showcased in 1991. Shortly after, Bofors introduced the Carl Gustaf M3 version. The improvement over its predecessor was the reduction in the weight of the launcher body: the inner lining of the launch barrel, including the rifling, was made of thinner steel. The reinforcing material of the external structure is made of lightweight carbon fiber and epoxy resin, and all parts that do not require strength are made of aluminum alloy or plastic, reducing the weight of the original launcher by approximately 6 kg.

In service worldwide, the Carl Gustav recoilless rifle has continuously been developed for new applications, including use by U.S. special forces and the British SAS to deal with bunkers and other combat vehicles. The German army retained a certain number of Gustav M2 rifles even after equipping the new Tekken III bazooka as an anti-armor weapon.

In November 2011, the U.S. Army ordered the M3 series for regular troops on the battlefield in Afghanistan to counter RPG rocket launchers used by enemy combatants and terrorists. The effective range of RPG rocket launchers is 500-600 meters. Compared to the M3 Carl Gustaf, with the use of various types of ammunition, the effective range can be extended to approximately 1300 meters. Additionally, with the proper ammunition, it can "air bomb" enemies hiding in bunkers from directly above.

On March 28, 2013, the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) requested that the manufacturer reduce weight while strictly instructing that the reduction in weight and size should not affect the weapon's center of gravity and durability. Saab Bofors Dynamics had already developed a lightweight version before delivery to USSOCOM. Firing tests demonstrated no degradation in performance, no increase in recoil, and essentially the same barrel life as the unmodified version.

The primary structure of a Carl Gustaf's body consists of the barrel with breech recoil buffer, two grips, and the interface of the stock assembly and tripod. It comes equipped with both mechanical sights and mounts for optical sights.

The Carl Gustav recoilless rifle can be fired from a standing, kneeling, sitting, or prone position. Alternatively, it can be fixed to the ground and fired by attaching a two-legged bracket to the front of the stock assembly. There is also an operating handle known as a "Venturi lock," used to open the breech for reloading. Typically, a small team of two people assists in operating the weapon: one carries and fires the weapon, while the other carries the weapon's ammunition and assists with reloading.

No Compromise? Get VFC!

  • Lightweight Nylon Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Design VFC's USSOCOM M3 MAAWS utilizes nylon fiber-reinforced polymer for the primary structure, significantly reducing the overall weight of the product. This results in a weight reduction from approximately 10 kg (if manufactured using the original materials) to about 4 kg with the VFC design. Internally, all key components are still made of metal, ensuring durability where it matters most. This design not only reduces weight but also maintains the structural strength of the USSOCOM M3 MAAWS platform.

  • Realistic Operation Remaining true to the design of the real USSOCOM M3 MAAWS, it's not only effective in eliminating your target but also simulates the operational experience of the original M3 as closely as possible. Bring it to the airsoft battlefield, and you'll not only draw a lot of attention but also have a lot of fun!

  • Simulated 84mm Dummy Rocket The USSOCOM M3 MAAWS Gas Launcher includes a simulated 84mm dummy rocket with added functionality. You can install a 40mm airsoft gas grenade by removing the dummy rocket cap on the 84mm rocket. Furthermore, the 40mm airsoft gas grenade can fire either BBs or the rubber grenade cap!

  • Interchangeable Ammunition Types In addition to the default green gas power, other power-source grenades will be released in the future. But it doesn't stop there. The types of projectiles used in the M3 aren't limited to just 6mm BBs; they also include standard 40mm gas grenades and the optional "Titan" 40mm gas grenade available with a 65mm launch module (configured in accordance with national laws). This provides you with even more options for other projectiles, giving your USSOCOM M3 MAAWS the same tactical flexibility on the airsoft battlefield as the real one.

VFC USSOCOM M3 MAAWS Gas Grenade Launcher The USSOCOM M3 MAAWS Gas Grenade Launcher is the first airsoft "Bazooka" made by VFC. In the manufacturing process, many new design concepts have been added while staying true to the spirit of the original. This includes a lightweight design, maintaining accurate structural dimensions, appearance, details, and balanced handling of the original USSOCOM M3 MAAWS. Whether you're planning to use it in the field or simply display it in your collection, the VFC USSOCOM M3 MAAWS Gas Grenade Launcher will be right at home in either situation. Additionally, look forward to future additions and expansions to the VFC Bazooka-style toy grenade launcher lineup coming very soon!
