Only Garmin is able to improve eTrex. The new eTrex 10 retains the core functionality, rugged construction, long battery life and the quality / price ratio that made eTrex the most common GPS device on the market. It 'been improved user interface and added a worldwide basemap, the paperless geocaching, and made compatible for mounting accessories on the handlebars. Same name. Same quality. However, eTrex 10 is an entirely new device, that only Garmin could offer.
Navigation views
The eTrex 10 has a monochrome display 2.2 '' easy to read in all lighting conditions. Rugged and waterproof, eTrex 10 is designed to withstand the elements. The easy-to-use interface allows you to spend more time outdoors and less time searching for information. eTrex 10 is equipped with the necessary strength to withstand elements such as dust, humidity or water, none of which represents a challenge to this formidable browser.
Fun
eTrex 10 supports geocaching GPX files for downloading geocaches and details straight to your unit. To start the geocaching adventure, visit OpenCaching.com. eTrex 10 stores and displays key information, including location, terrain, difficulty, hints and descriptions; in this way, you will no longer need to manually entering coordinates and print maps. Simply upload the GPX file to your unit and start hunting for caches.
Keep Your Fix
With its high-sensitivity GPS receiver and WAAS-enabled HotFix® satellite prediction, eTrex 10 locates your position quickly and precisely and maintains even in heavy cover and deep canyons. The advantage is obvious: when you're in deep woods or just near tall buildings, eTrex 10 will be able to draw a path in the right time.
Go Global
The new eTrex series is the first to be able to detect both GPS and GLONASS satellites. GLONASS is a system developed by the Russian Federation that will be fully operational in 2012. When using GLONASS satellites, the time it takes for the receiver to a position is (on average) approximately 20 percent faster than using GPS. Also, when using both GPS and GLONASS satellites, the receiver is capable of receiving signals from 24 satellites than using GPS alone.
