Satre is a compact, lightweight, and highly durable fixed blade knife. Due to its characteristics, it finds application in a wide range of disciplines and uses, including survival activities, bushcraft, or as part of an everyday carry (EDC) kit.
It was designed in collaboration with Daniele Dal Canto, Master Advanced instructor. In Neck Knife mode, by using a paracord 550 lanyard, it can be worn around the neck, keeping the knife vertical with the handle facing downwards.
The Kydex pre-shaped sheath features metal eyelets, allowing for the attachment of both the lanyard and accessory holder. Starting from January 2022, the ULTICLIP system will be available as an optional accessory exclusively on www.extremaratio.com. This system enables the attachment of the sheath not only to the belt but also to pockets, pants, jackets, shirts, and t-shirts.
ULTICLIP allows the knife to be positioned horizontally or vertically, making it suitable for both left-handed and right-handed users. All three versions of Satre come with a black sheath, while the desert sheath is available as an optional accessory.
The skeletonized full-tang structure allows for personalization by using paracord as a handle wrap.
Satre is available in three versions with two different types of steel. The Black and Stone Washed versions utilize Böhler N690 steel, thermally treated to 58 HRC. This material is chosen for its resistance to oxidation, edge retention, and proven reliability over the years.
The Black S600 version, on the other hand, uses Böhler S600 steel. This steel is commonly used in industrial production to manufacture metalworking tools and molds.
The high content of molybdenum, tungsten, and a significant presence of vanadium in its chemical composition give the steel excellent properties of hardness, wear resistance, and toughness.
The presence of cobalt promotes the formation of small, evenly distributed carbides, a characteristic that enhances and elevates its wear resistance. Satre S600 undergoes cryogenic tempering and treatment, reaching an exceptional hardness of 64 HRC. This provides great wear resistance and ensures long-lasting sharpness of the blade. Böhler S600 contains 4.5% chromium, making it a stainless steel. For this reason, Extrema Ratio has chosen the new EXP DARK coating.
The high hardness, wear resistance, and abrasion resistance of this steel make it challenging to sharpen. To ensure that your Satre always maintains a sharp edge, we recommend using the double-grit (diamond-ceramic) sharpener produced by Extrema Ratio.
