The history of the Chiappa group begins in 1958, when Ezechiele (Oscar) Chiappa founded his own company called Armi Sport. Initially born as an artisan workshop, the company has continued to grow over time until today it is an industrial group, still owned by the Chiappa family.
The group includes the companies Chiappa Firearms S.r.l. (production of firearms for defense, for sporting activities and reproductions of historical weapons), the company Kimar (production of blank and signal guns), the ACP company (training systems), La Costa S.r.l. (metal surface treatments) and the company Chiappa Firearms USA Ltd, (distribution in America). The success of the Chiappa Group comes from a combination of multiple factors, including the great technical experience gained in over 60 years of activity, the ability, courage and entrepreneurial spirit of the president Rino Chiappa and the total dedication to work. of family members. These characteristics have led the Chiappa group to a series of winning choices, focusing on technological development and understanding the needs of the market with the constant introduction of new models, but also in activities based on precision and support. constant to customers.
All production stages are completed by the company itself. The manufacturing process begins with a 3D model, followed by prototyping and data transfer to CNC machining machines. Through the specific CAM software, the instrumentation of the machines can produce any component in a short time, obtaining direct instructions from 3D drawings.
Order and organization are the characteristics common to all sectors of the company: from work with numerical control machines (CNC) to the production of mechanically manufactured resistant steel components, such as castles or breeches, or for making any type of stock and other smaller parts; the production of gun barrels, die casting and modeling of plastic materials; the use of furnaces and equipment for heat treatments; to the surface finishing process, for example by bleaching, parkerized finishing, nickel plating as well as tools suitable for cutting and shining metal and wood components.
The entire production process is managed and coordinated by a computerized system that includes all the processing steps. This system allows, through a control of the execution time, to obtain firmly monitored production costs. Finally, all firearms are visually checked and tested through shooting tests within the company itself, before being taken to the packaging area. Thanks to the experience of the staff, within the factory the artisan tradition coexists with modern organization, thus ensuring maximum efficiency of the activity.
The Chiappa group produces a wide range of models. The catalog includes copies of historic American and muzzleloading weapons, lever action and rifled shotguns, pistols and rifles in .17 and .22 caliber rimfire, pistols and sporting and self-defense revolvers, such as the famous Rhino, pistols by signaling and alarm and by compressed air.
