An enduring classic. The 'kukri,' a versatile Nepalese tool made famous by the Gurkha Regiment in service to Her Majesty the Queen and derived from ancient Greek falchion swords, is essentially a machete with advanced cutting capabilities. This cutting advancement allows it to emulate the effectiveness of an axe while maintaining the versatility of a long blade. Extrema Ratio, blending ancient principles with modern technologies, has created two tools of this category: the KS and the KH. The blades of these knives feature differentiated grinds. Near the handle, the blade is razor-sharp, allowing for a narrow sharpening angle without compromising the thickness of the spine, which remains robust. Towards the tip of the blade, the edge is flat and angled to penetrate wood and vegetation effortlessly. Typically, tools of this kind are made with soft steel for flexibility and easy sharpening. However, Extrema Ratio has succeeded in creating two tools that are elastic, with exceptionally long-lasting and resistant sharpening, using hard steel like BÖHLER N690.
