After the great success of the Zephyr Gtx Hi and Mid models LOWA presented 6 'Z-SERIES' models. indicated for law enforcement, ie specific for law enforcement and special forces (SOC, Special Operations Capable), specialized units operating in high-risk situations and needing a special preparation that conventional bodies do not have.
In Italy the best known are:

N.O.C.S. The central operational security unit, better known by the acronym NOCS, is the Special Unit of Counter-Terrorism of the Italian State Police;

G.I.S The Special Intervention Group is an elite unit of the Carabinieri Corps;

AT.P.I. - Antiterrorism Pronto Impiego (Italy);

R.O.S - The special operative grouping of the Carabinieri (more often referred to simply by the acronym ROS)

In consideration of the very strict training to which these operating units are subjected and following numerous requests to the German company from the various special bodies of various nationalities for a 'hybrid' model, LOWA has designed a stable and light shoe able to offer comfort extraordinary in the walk, equal to a light hiking shoe but at the same time equipped with a support and the protection of a backpacking shoe, completing - in this way - its own military collection, already equipped with robust and solid models such as the Combatt Boot and multi-functional models
like the Zephyr.
The new 'Z-SERIES' are available with an upper in nubuck or water repellent suede, combined with a very light and breathable Pro Cordura.
Some models are made in Gore-tex, others in fabric, the latter most suited to warmer weather conditions. The lacing system composed of closed hooks, is more resistant to wear and makes the model also usable as a throwing shoe.
The 'Cross Duty' rubber sole guarantees exceptional grip.
The technology used in the monowrap sole ensures considerable protection and provides valuable support
additional for fast-roping (descended from helicopters / elisbars).
Z-SERIES is available in various colors such as black Nubuck, dark brown suede and black, coyote suede and desert.
Two heights: Z8 (cm 20) and Z6 (cm 15).
The weight ranges from 1300 grams for the Mid version and 1400 grams approx. for the HI version.
